Job Objective/Purpose
Perform diagnostic imaging procedures in line
with the hospital policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Perform imaging procedures on patients
to meet the established practice parameters and standards of care while
ensuring client satisfaction.
a)
Processing and printing of
quality and appropriate images to assist in diagnosis.
b)
Ensuring availability and
optimum utilization of consumables for cost effectiveness.
c)
Producing timely and accurate
results in line with Imaging SOPs
d)
To ensure real time billing of
all procedures has been done before they are carried out.
e)
Accurate identification and
preparation of the client prior to imaging procedures
f)
Counseling of patients and next
of kin about the procedure and obtain consent.
2.
Ensure radiation safety within
the facility for both staff and patients.
3.
Adhere to Infection Prevention
Control measures per the hospital policies.
4.
Performs calibration and
routine preventive maintenance on imaging equipment per the established
procedures and protocols.
5.
Safeguard and provide basic
maintenance and safety of imaging equipment in the facility.
6.
Report daily to the Branch
Manager on the status and usage of radiology equipment, and radiology supplies
a)
Track and report equipment
downtime
b)
Track and report equipment
usage
c)
Daily monitoring of stock
levels to ensure no stock outs and provide feedback to the Radiology Manager
for new orders.
7.
Maintain imaging records,
ensure filing of patient records and tests results to comply with the
legislative regulations.
8.
Tracking and check patient
images and correct reports from the radiologists
9.
Ensure daily shift handover
report
10.
Advice on appropriate and/or
additional imaging procedure to aide in diagnosis.
11.
Active participation in monthly
departmental meetings
12.
Always Maintaining the
patient’s privacy and confidentiality.
13.
Any other duty as assigned by
the supervisor in line with the job description.

Person Specification
l
Diploma in Medical Imaging
Sciences, Higher Diploma in Ultrasound
l
Minimum experience of 2
years' experience
l Registered and licensed by the Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority
l
Special
skills in Echocardiography will be an added advantage.
l
Organizational Awareness
and detailed-oriented
l
Strong interpersonal and
communication skills, teamwork and reliability
